Athletics: Review for 2005/06
In athletics we have had enjoyable matches with New Beacon, Hawthorns and St Michael's with our junior teams looking especially promising. In the IAPS district meeting
held at Ashford, four of our boys became IAPS Kent champions: Anthony Sanson in the U13 triple jump, Charlie Verrell U13 1500m, Shem Raveh U12 100m and Chris Booth in the
U12 long jump. Our U12 4 x 100m relay team was also victorious. All these boys competed in the National Finals in Birmingham together with Felix Harding in the U12 800m
and, though no medals were won, we represented the school with pride.
Slaving away all day at the triple jump and long jump pit that day was Mr Sanders and his commitment to athletics was rewarded this year with an award for over 30 years
