Derwent Lodge Cross Country

Cross Country
Derwent Lodge runners have excelled once again in cross-country this year. The U9's have won every girls event that they have taken part in, including the Thomas Trophy; Hazelwood Relays; Woodmansee Shield; Dobson Trophy and the West Kent Cross Country League. We have such depth in the juniors that many girls have had the opportunity to run but the best runners have been Eloise Wainwright, Freya Hall, Charlotte Henderson, Millie Wetton, Eliza Bond, Beth Peachey, Mhairi Fenton, Isobel Nicklin, Lucy Thompson, Lizzie Holder and Francesca Reali.
The U11's have also had a very good season, winning the Thomas Trophy; Hazelwood Relays and the Woodmansee Shield. They finished just behind Kent College in the West Kent Cross Country League and again, many girls had the opportunity to race, not just the elite runners. The strongest senior runners are Rowena Maitland, Abigail Leach, Hannah Flemington, Charlotte Short and Hannah Kinsey. These five have achieved consistently outstanding results in races. Others who deserve mention for their efforts are: Emma Gull, Hannah Capewell, Lily Wadsworth, Eliza macLachlan and Charis Heim.
Every girl took part in the Inter house Cross Country race where Coniston won the senior event, and Grasmere the junior event. Individual results for the seniors were: 1st - Rowena Maitland, 2nd - Charlotte Short and 3rd - Hannah Flemington. Alexandra Thompson and Grace Paul were the most improved runners. Individual results for the juniors were: 1st - Freya Hall, 2nd - Millie Wetton and 3rd - Lucy Thompson. Becca Lines and Isabel Carter were the most improved junior runners.
