NetballMany matches have been played this term, and netball clubs have been well attended. The U10 netball team were Runners-up in the Ryde School netball tournament.
TennisThe girls have tennis lessons from January onwards, In 2011 DL produced very good results in Kent in the Orange tournaments, where the A and B teams finished in 2nd and equal 3rd places respectively.
RoundersThe U11A Rounders team played their way into the last eight out of 70 schools who entered the IAPS National Knock-Out tournament. They lost in the quarter-finals to Holy Cross. All girls have enjoyed playing in matches this term against other schools.
SwimmingThe swimming pool opened in January 2009. Yrs 3 and 4 swim every week, and the senior girls swim for half a term every term. A variety of weekly clubs are on offer, and we swim against local schools in galas.
GymnasticsGymnastics takes place in lessons in the first half of the Michaelmas term. Each yeargroup follows a different theme. Skills teaching and sequence work on mats, benches and apparatus form the basis of most lessons.
AthleticsAthletics is a major sport for all girls in DL. The season culminates in two Sports afternoons where girls participate in at least three events each. Kathleen Faes won a Bronze medal in the U12 1500m race at the National Championships.
HockeyThere are regular fixtures for the U11A and B teams, and the U10A and B teams. DL U11A team are Kent champions and will represent the County in the East of England championships in March.
Cross CountryAll girls run a short Cross-country course on a weekly basis in the winter terms. The DL teams continue to collect shields and trophies for excellent performances in competitions.
