Drama at Yardley Court

At The Schools at Somerhill we aim to make Drama an exciting and inclusive experience. All the boys at Yardley Court have a timetabled Drama session each week and are taught by a team of teachers which includes Musicians and is led by a Drama specialist. The lessons encourage pupils to become confident communicators, to work in teams and to listen to and perform instructions effectively.

Our Drama lessons are diverse and lively. As the pupils’ skills develop they progress from Drama games to polished improvisations, script writing and performance.

Each year group performs an annual play to staff, relatives and friends. Some of these productions are musicals, others are well known plays and some are ‘home grown’. Our aim is that every child, if he is in agreement, has the opportunity to participate and to take part in what we hope will prove an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone.
