French at Derwent Lodge
French at Derwent Lodge is fun. The girls use their French in the classroom in order to communicate when they go to France. They can buy fruit at the market in Boulogne and buy a drink in St. Omer.
The girls develop lovely accents by listening to CDs, DVDs and by making use of the interactive white board. They can subscribe to a French magazine and can write to their own penpal in Rouen. The girls love to create short dramas in French and a real highlight of the Year for Year 6 girls is the French Café, when invitations are sent to Staff to come and sample the ambiance of an authentic Parisian bistro, while practising their French of course!
