Jonathan Shute

Teaches:
Year 4 and Games
Born in Perth, Western Australia, Jonathan has lived in the United Kingdom for the past eight years; for the initial two years as a private tutor and then, for the past six years, as a teacher at The Schools at Somerhill. His teaching qualifications were gained at The West Australian College of Advanced Education (Edith Cowan University).
Jonathan started his teaching career in the Outback town of, Kondinin, before the 'Travel Bug' hit him for the first time as an adult. This resulted in two years of travel throughout Europe and the United States of America, taking on various roles in the care of children. On his return to Western Australia he was involved in a program designed to help reunite children who had been abused, or allowed to be abused, by their parents. When this program ended after two years, Jonathan returned to teaching; initially for the Education Department of Western Australia and finally as Head of ICT and Games at Scotch College, Perth.
Whilst teaching at The Schools at Somerhill Jonathan has been Head of ICT, a Year Four classroom teacher and Pastoral Coordinator.
