Parents’ Association
Here at The Schools at Somerhill we have a very active Parents’ Association. Membership is open to all parents and/or guardians of the pupils attending any of the schools. The P.A. plays an important role in enhancing community spirit and furthering links between parents in all three schools.
The events organised throughout the year are great fun for both the parents and children and help generate extra funds for the schools, which are put towards ‘special projects’.
The funds raised in the last school year 2008/9 were £ 17,000 and this money funded:
Eco Club project, fixture and fittings for the new library, extra equipment for the new swimming pool and playground equipment (climbing frames).
The P.A also donated over £7,000 to various charities. These included the Pembury Neo-Natal Unit, Slideaway, NSPCC, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Demelza House.
