Religious Education at Yardley Court
All the boys in Yardley Court have Religious Studies lessons, and they follow a curriculum which is based on Christianity.
The programme recognises that the heritage of this country, and the school in which it is being used, is Christian but that there are a significant number of practising and non-practising members of other faiths in the community at large.
The Bible, as the foundation document for Christianity, provides the framework and point of reference for the subject. As the Scriptures of Judaism are incorporated within the Bible, common ground with other faiths may be sought through the Scriptures, particularly where they share records and experiences of Divine revelation.
Boys in Years Seven and Eight follow the Common Entrance Board's syllabus, which also forms the basis for those seeking Scholarship to Senior Schools.
