Tennis: Review for 2003/04

The highlights of the tennis season were making the finals of the winter tennis competition and the quarter finals of the Kent summer event.  At both stages we were beaten by our bogey team, Russell House!  Despite this, there is tremendous enthusiasm for tennis throughout the school and we have excellent strength in depth, especially in Years Five, Six and Seven.  We won several tennis matches with local prep schools and had a huge entry for our own internal competition.  The junior event was won by a very talented Barnaby Hodgkins, and the Middle and Senior competitions were won by the Spurlings, Nick and Tom respectively.  The boys were put firmly in their place, however, when the teachers comprehensively out-played them in the annual Teachers v Leavers tennis match – better luck next year, lads!
