The School Week and Day
I started when I was in the Nursery. I came for 3 mornings a week. My Mummy asked if I could stay for lunch and play and then afternoons when I had settled in. Then I went up to Kindergarten. I went to school every morning and then started to stay for some afternoons as I got older.
When I was in Reception I started to do what the Year One and Two children do. I came to school at 8 o’clock in the morning and played in the courtyard until 8.30 when we went into our classrooms. I now feel very grown up because I am in Year Two!
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday mornings we have assembly. Mrs. Brett (our Deputy Head) leads us on Monday and Mrs. Sorensen leads us on Wednesday. On Thursday we have hymn practice. During the year each class leads an assembly and we invite the parents to come and watch.
We have a drink and a biscuit before we go out to play at 10 o’clock. In the summer we play in the paddock but in the Winter we play on the tennis courts so we don’t get muddy! We take turns on playing on our lovely climbing equipment.
We have lunch at 12 o’clock. Our teacher serves us and I especially like the school’s yoghurt! Our classroom assistant looks after us while we play and we are back in our classes at 1.20. On Tuesday afternoons we go in a coach to have a swimming lesson at Tonbridge pool!
We do lots of activities in our classes in the afternoon, We have PE in the Bickmore Hall and go to the IT suite to learn how to use the computer.
We finish school at 3.30. On some evenings I go to a club or I go to late class. If I am staying we meet in the Hall for a drink and a biscuit. Sometimes Mummy just picks me up at 3.30 and I tell her all about my exciting day!
