Yardley Court Cross Country

Cross Country
Many boys at Yardley Court love their cross country running, and the teams have again enjoyed considerable success this season. To date, 51 boys have represented the school in cross country competitions this year! The extensive grounds of the Schools at Somerhill are ideal for the sport, and the lunch break training runs for both junior and senior boys are very popular. This year, Yardley Court has recorded team victories at Under 9 and Under 11 level in both the Thomas Trophy (Sevenoaks Prep) and the Hazelwood Relays. We annually host the Bracken Cup, which is one of the biggest races in the region, and our Under 9 team won their section of this year's competition, with the U11 boys taking second place. We are also holders of the West Kent Cross Country League title. We are very proud that several of the best runners in Kent attend Yardley Court, led by 13 year-old Felix Harding, who recently took Silver in the County Championships and came seventh in the South of England Championships. The enthusiasm of boys and staff combined ensures that Cross Country running enjoys the same high profile as other sports at school.Loading...
