The rugby season has now finished and the Yardley Court boys should be delighted with the results and performances they have put in throughout a weather disrupted term. Despite a spate of cancellations due to snow, frost, rain, burst pipes and even a performance of the Wizard of Oz!! every boy managed to play at least two games for the school. In all excactly 100 games were played Yardley Court winning 64 of them drawing 10 and losing 26. There were several highlights with the 1st XV having an exellent season winning the Hudson Cup 7s competition as well as the Solefield 10's competition. The XV a-side team won 8 out of their 10 games, an excellent season against some strong schools. The U11 boys continued to demonstrate their strength throughout the year group by maintaining an unbeaten season for all teams, a great acheivement. The U10 A also remained unbeaten and they had a fantastic run in the National Schools Rugby Tournament winning the regional qualifying tournament before winning their group in the National Finals, eventaully losing tin the semi final. A fantastic effort as well as a great deal of skill. In the junior part of the school the U8s continued to show their promise with only one defeat across all 4 teams and the U9s made steady progress, reaching the Holmewood House tournament semi final a highlight. Well done to all boys (and staff) who have braved the elements to play some fantastic rugby this term.
