Yardley Court Tennis

There are currently 24 boys in the Yardley Court Tennis Squad who meet once a week to work on specific skills. Last year we were donated a Tennis Ball Machine and this has come into good use to improve their groundstrokes and volleys.

Last year's tennis season started with some strong wins in the U12 and U14 Kent Schools Tennis Championships but ended just before the boys reached the semi-finals stages.

Yardley Court played both New Beacon and Holmewood House early in the season in friendly matches. In the U13 competitions we won one and lost one, with all four boys playing a high level of tennis. In the U11 matches the boys came through with a good outright win and a winning draw (same number of matches won, but with more individual games won). Later in the season Yardley Court took on Marlborough House at both the U12 and U10 level, coming through with a strong win in the U10 match.

The annual internal competiton took place in the Junior, Middle and Senior parts of the school. The champions were:

Juniors - Tom Nicholls

Middles - Jonathan Smith

Seniors - Luke Spurling
